ABOUT PUP CUP
Pastime with Purpose is holding it's 4th annual Pup Cup and we want you AND your dog to join us for this fun and VIRTUAL 5k-9!

This year due to COVID, we are transitioning from an Orange County-based physical race to a nation-wide virtual race. Part of this transition is partnering with as many children’s hospitals as possible around the country to create a network of organizations that are interested in our goal of providing a therapy dog to all hospitals who desire one! In the current climate, children in hospitals have restricted access to family and loved-ones so providing a certified therapy dog to these children is the difference between spending a hospital visit in isolation or with a furry friend. Providing hurting or sick children with the warm support of a certified therapy dog has always been our priority but now, it is more crucial than ever.

With the help of our founder and starting pitcher for the Los Angeles Angels, Andrew Heaney, we have helped the Children’s Hospital of Orange County procure and maintain a therapy dog for their facility and now we want to spread that mission far and wide with the support of multiple other MLB and MiLB players. Dominating the field and the dog park, Andrew Heaney is the proud fur dad of two black labs, Sadie and Charlie. Join him, his wife Jordan, and his pups on race day!

THE CAUSE

Fully-certified and trained therapy dogs are pricey, but so incredibly worth the investment with the comfort and joy they bring to children, parents and medical staff they work with every day. A portion of the funds raised by the 2020 Pup Cup Virtual 5k-9 will be used to help children's hospitals around the country in their endeavor to acquire a therapy dog to join their family and also to inform the public on the science behind the overwhelming benefit to therapy dogs and the importance they serve not only to children, but to their families and the hospital staff.
