Description

PLEASE READ THE INFORMATION BELOW BEFORE REGISTERING!

A unique opportunity for MWR youth to spend the night aboard the legendary USS Midway! Walk in the footsteps of sailors who bravely served aboard the USS Midway. You will take part in unique behind-the-scenes tours and hands-on engagement for a sense of what life was like for sailors on the high seas.

Participants must be at least 4 years of age to participate in this overnight program. 

For youth ages 4-10, we require a 1:1 ratio. Chaperones must register themselves with their child age 4-10. 

For youth, 10+, we require a 1 chaperone for every 5 youth, however MWR is requiring all children to have a registered adult. This is not a drop off event!

Your Overnight Adventure includes a snack box during the evening Flight Deck free time, a hot breakfast, inspired by Midway’s original cookbook – just like a true Midway Sailor. Dinner will not be served.

Bring a sleeping bag and pillow and snooze where the enlisted sailors berthed while the USS Midway was active duty. Showers (or rain lockers) are not operational onboard. Please plan accordingly. Keep in mind that you will be walking, climbing ladders/stairs, stooping and more. As weather along the San Diego Bay can start warm and cool off quickly, comfortable clothing with layers is recommended. A jacket or coat is recommended as well. CLOSED TOE SHOES ARE REQUIRED. Skirts and dresses are not recommended.

Check-in and registration will begin on the pier at 6pm on the evening of the Overnight Adventure. We will then come aboard, and the program will begin at 6:30pm. The program will conclude at 9:30am the following morning.

Parking is available on Navy Pier. The parking is operated by ACE Parking. The cost to park in this lot for the Overnight Adventure is $10 per vehicle.

6pm: Guests will check in on the pier

6:30pm: Guests will board the ship

7-8:30pm: Behind the Scenes Tours

8:30-9pm: Flight Deck Free Time with Midrats (evening snack)

9-10:30pm: Behind the Scenes Tours

10:45pm: Bed Time

Day 2

6am: Wake-up

6:15-7am: Breakfast

7-8:30am: Behind the Scenes Tours

8:30-9am: Flight Deck Free Time

9:30am: Overnight Adventure Ends
