Race Day Information

Thank you to all the runners and supporters for joining us for the 7th Annual SJVRC OneMile4OneChild Charity Run.

Virtual Race Event

FOR VIRTUAL RUNNERS 

All virtual runners must complete their virtual race distance within a single time frame between September 17th - September 30th.  You may run, walk, or run/walk your full distance wherever you would like – around your neighborhood, on a treadmill, or any trail or course of your choosing.  Your race packet will be mailed to you. 

FOR VIRTUAL RUNNING GROUP IN OC, TNR, CO, MD, PA, TX, and others.

Virtual Race Leaders will schedule date, time, and location in the local area for the virtual race event.  Your package will be available at the virtual race event.  Your For additional information, please contact your local Virtual Race Leader.

What you need to Bring

Your bib and safety pins
Your raffle tickets
Appropriate clothing and footwear are highly recommended.
A great Attitude!

We highly encouraged you to pick up your bib during our race bib Pick-up event:

Location: Sport Basement Sunnyvale

Date:  SEPT 20th
Time: 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  

If you are unable to attend our Bib pick-up event on Saturday, bib pickup is also available on race day.  Please come at least 60 minutes prior to race time for bib pick-up.

In Person Registration

Online Registration is available until race day.  In person registration is available for a purchase at the following locations.  You can pay for your registration via visa or master credit card.

Cancellations & Transfers

If you are unable to participate in the race and would like to initiate your cancellation, there will be no refund.  Participants can transfer their registration in advance either at the Bib Pickup Event or on race day.  

Bag Check

There will be no bag check option at the race.  SJVRC is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items at the race, so leave your valuables at home.

Race Start Time

8:30:AM

Race Health & Safety Instructions

Fast runners in the front, following with slower runner, and walkers/strollers in the back.
Stay on the paved path.
Stay on the right of the course at all time.  Do not cross over the left-hand side of the course to prevent being hit by returning fast runners.
No bike/ skateboards/or pets on the course during the race.
This is a family race event so no smoking or alcohol of any kinds at the race area.

Time Limits

Although the course is open to the public, the time limits for the race is 3 hours.

Timing

Your chip is attached to the back side of your bib.  Your time starts when you cross the starting line timing mat and stops when you cross the finish line timing mat.  

Refreshments

There will be water provided during the racecourse at the 5K and 10K turnaround locations as well as at the finish line.  Post-race snacks and fruits are available at the finish line for re-fueling.  The snacks are available for participants only.  

Lake Alameda Park’s bathrooms are located close to the East and West entrance Stations. 

Medical Assistant

We have a team of licensed medical professionals to assist any participants with medical needs at the finish line. We strongly encourage all participants to fill out the back of their race bib with any emergency contact information. Participants requiring medical assistance may be transported to one of the area hospitals. The hospital and ambulance provider will bill you directly.

Zumba Dance

Everyone is welcome to join our complimentary Zumba Dance lead by Instructor Hanh Duong.  Zumba Dance starts around 9:30 a.m.  

 

Awards Ceremony

Awards Ceremony will be around 10:30 a.m. All runners will receive a finisher medal.  Top finisher awards will be distributed to the top three females and males in each race distance.

Raffles Event

Raffles Event will follow the Awards Ceremony.  We have four gift baskets filled with prizes generously donated by one of our core members to raffled off.  Don’t misplace your raffle tickets.  There will be no replacement for the raffle tickets.  If you lose it, you will not be able to participate in the raffle.  

Race Results 

We know you will be anxiously waiting for your race results immediately after the race.  Your race results will be posted in as soon as possible after the final contestant has crossed the finish line.  You can view your race result through Ford Timing.  https://runsignup.com/onemile4onechild/results. 

Race Photos

Photographers will be positioned at the starting line, along the racecourse, and at the finish line. Please make sure the number on your race bib is always visible, so your photo can be recorded and identified.
