Monterey Bay Coastal Rail Trail Virtual Challenge

Fri January 1 - Sun January 31

Description

Start the new year off right by signing up for the APWA Monterey Bay Coastal Rail Trail Virtual Challenge!  We are excited to announce our chapter’s first annual virtual challenge.  Join us along the scenic Monterey Bay Sanctuary Coastal Trail to raise money to benefit the Youth Scholarship and Internship Programs.  For 31-days starting on the first day of the year, we will virtually travel through the Monterey Bay from Davenport to the City of Watsonville along the old railroad right-of-way.  It's 34 miles of scenic roads and trails that showcases public infrastructure and natural beauty.

We welcome everyone to join a team and challenge themselves. Virtually run, jog, walk, and bike anywhere and anytime in January. The road, trail, track, or treadmill are all possible options. Move at your own pace and your place and then record your achievements on the RunSignUp website.

All proceeds from this event will fund scholarships, internships, and environmental science workshops. Proceeds from APWA funding raising events have supported many students who are entering the fields of Public Works, Engineering, or Construction Management. This event will be an outstanding opportunity for you to be active and healthy and support various educational as well as internship opportunities for students.

Let’s see what team/individual completes the trail first!
