Haunted Housing Run/Walk

Join us in person for the 6th annual Haunted Housing 5K on a flat oceanfront course in the beautiful Ventura, California. 

This is Halloween weekend so costumes are highly encouraged!

-Top 3 in each age group will receive an award

100% of race proceeds will benefit the Housing Authority of the City of San Buenaventura's (HACSB) Scholarship Program.  

The Scholarship Program provides scholarships to residents of the HACSB’s public housing/affordable housing communities, and participants/household members of the Housing Choice Voucher program who are attending/will be attending a four-year college/university, community college, or technical/vocational school in the fall.  The Scholarship Program awards 6 scholarships a year: 3 at $2,000 for four-year college/university, and 3 at $1,000 for community college/technical school.  Since its inception in 2015, a total of 26  scholarships have been awarded. The Haunted Housing Run/Walk proceeds allow us to continue to support our students as they pursue higher education.   

We believe that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty.  Education provides opportunity, access and choices.  Most previous scholarship recipients were the first in their family to attend college.  The personal commitment and determination of each of the recipients to go to college is inspiring.  It is our vision to provide a resource that will allow our youth the chance to maximize their potential and life contribution.
