Law Day 5K - Cancelled for 2020

This is a flat and fast course at Ventura Community Park on Kimball Road (901 S. Kimball Road) in Ventura. This is the 37th Annual Race. We have 12 age categories (noted as you sign up) and the first place winner in each category gets a $10 gift certificate and nice Law Day 5K mug or comparable gift. Each runner gets a high quality A4 T shirt. The race has chip timing (timer in the race number/bib). Pick up your race shirt and race number/bib the day of the race at the Registration table. Be sure to wear the race bib/number since it has your race chip and will register your time. Registration starts at 7:00 a.m. and the 5K Race Starts at 8:30 a.m. We have around $2,000 in great raffle prizes (all participants automatically entered in the drawing), plus a lot of free food. There is no prize money for the race (other than the gift certificate noted above). Instead we are focusing on the raffle prizes and food. 5K Race time is 8:30 a.m. with the 1 Mike Fun Run (for kids and family) as soon as the 5K race ends (usually around 9:30 a.m.). Raffle prizes are announced right after the 1 Mile Fun Run and race awards follow immediately thereafter.  Proceeds benefit the Ventura County Bar Association and its related non profit Ventura County Legal Aid, Inc. ("VCLA") .  VCLA has several important missions. VCLA provides legal services to victims of abuse and trauma at the new Ventura County Family Justice Center ("Justice Center").  VCLA also provides pro bono legal services through its twice monthly Legal Clinic at the Ventura County Law Library and through other voluntary attorneys. The race course is 2 laps and a map of the course will be at the registration table. We have a lead bike for the entire course. Race age groups (age groups are in 5K Race only; both male and female) are: 6-13 years old, 14-18, 19-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+. For the 5K Walker we only have categories of male, female and under 13 (no prize money). The one mile fun run has no place results - each child receives a 5K race medal. This is a great race and its hard to find another race with so many free raffle prizes and great food. Official race timer is Josh Spiker. We hope to see you at the race.
