Description

So, what is the "Tour De San Diego" Virtual Challenge? The virtual race challenge consists of 6 races, in 6 different locations and distances across San Diego. This is 1 of 6 races. Each race distance is to be completed in the designated location and during a specified 1-month time period.

Virtual means that we are not all gathering on the starting line together, but competitors run the same destination locations during the same time window. That is where the fun begins. You can RUN, WALK, or HIKE at your pace and on your own schedule. You should plan in advance, look up the MAP of the location, decide on your route and complete the run/walk challenge in the designated location. We specify the LOCATION to run in and suggest a route, but you're free to develop your own course route, as long as it takes place in the correct LOCATION. For example, at Lake Miramar, you can run your 8k around the lake clockwise, counterclockwise, or do an out-and-back, but you must complete 8k at Lake Miramar.

What do you get when you sign up for this individual race? You get to rank yourself among the best runners in San Diego, and you have the option to add on a finisher medal and buff. The medal and buff can be shipped directly to you, or available for pickup on a designed San Diego location. The top 3 male and female finishers of each individual race are eligible for CASH PRIZES. See main challenge series website for details.

You can sign up for only one race in the series, or however many you'd like, but you're eligible for additional prizes if you sign up for all 6 races in the series. If you sign up for and complete all 6 races in the series, you will be to enter additional raffles and be eligible for overall challenge series prizes. Raffles and overall challenge series awards will take place after the series ends, in December.

You can compete with friends, family, run clubs, in a group, or solo using any GPS tracking app or device of your choice. You MUST use your own GPS tracking device to upload results. If running in a group, PLEASE REMEMBER to follow local guidelines regarding social distancing. Wish you the best!

*MUST BE IN SAN DIEGO, County
