Description

Working Triathlete Coach Derek Owens will be hosting a mid-season camp from July 25-28 in the iconic triathlon hub of Boulder, Colorado. At this camp, you’ll have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the challenging yet inspiring training grounds where many of the top professionals live and train, surrounded by the majestic Rocky Mountains. This exclusive camp offers the perfect blend of intense mid-season training, insights from seasoned coaches and exciting guests, and the chance to connect with fellow Working Triathletes from across the country, all while getting a fitness bump by training a mile above sea level!

Camp Overview

  • 3 swims (1 OWS in race environment)
  • 2 bikes (1 long, 1 short/easy)
  • 3 runs (1 5K in race environment, 1 key track session, 1 long run)
  • 1 strength session
  • 5 hours of hands-on informational sessions led by experts and Working Triathlete coaches
  • Fun environment focused on pushing your limits while building team and community with fellow athletes

THURSDAY
  • 5:00 PM: Meet at Boulder Reservoir
  • 7:00 PM: Stroke & Stride (750m or 1500m swim + 5k run) - Boulder Reservoir
  • After Event: Dinner out - Avery Brewing
FRIDAY
  • 7:00 AM: Key Run at Fairview HS Track
  • 8:15 AM: Strength & Mobility with Caitlin Alexander
  • 10:00 AM: Bike Fit Principles with Ryan Ignatz - Full Cycle
  • 11:30 AM: Nutrition Seminar with The Feed
  • 1:00 PM: Maintenance Workshop & Flat Changing with Full Cycle Technicians
  • 3:00 PM: Coached Pool Swim
  • 5:00 PM: Easy Sunset Spin
  • 6:30 PM: Dinner (on own)
SATURDAY
  • 6:30 AM: Long Ride (Big Route)
  • 8:00 AM: Long Ride (Moderate Route)
  • 10:30 AM: Brick Run
  • 11:00 AM: Transition Clinic / Practice
  • 12:30 PM: Lunch (on own), Suggestion: Skratch Cafe
  • 3:00 PM: Optional Swim - Scott Carpenter Pool
  • 5:00 PM: Sports Psychology Seminar with Will Murray
  • 7:00 PM: Group Dinner out - Backcountry Pizza
SUNDAY
  • 8:30 AM: Trail Run (Variations of THIS ROUTE) - Chautauqua Park
  • 10:00 AM: Camp Closing
  • 12:00 PM: Group Lunch (on own), Rayback Collective
