Breathless 10,000

Welcome to the Breathless 10,000 - the lung burning, cardio pushing endurance contest of 2020!

This is a partner competition and it will leave you BREATHLESS.  Each participant receives a soft tee shirt and competitor's digital finisher’s certificate.

Eight teams (16 total participants) at a time will compete in the cardio challenge of the year!  At the end of the comp, each team will have completed TEN THOUSAND meters of work through rowing and biking in addition to a TON of sprinting.  (Concept 2 Rower, Stationary Assault Bike)  Trailhead CrossFit at the 5280 FitCompound is hosting the Breathless 10000 this fall!  Athletes from all disciplines are encouraged to show off their cardio prowess at this competition.  No technical skills or prior experience on rowers or assault bikes are required.  All skill and fitness levels welcome.

PART A: As one partner rows, the other sprints a predetermined amount (400 meters) and then the partners rotate.  Throughout this time, the rower distance is adding up!  Each partner completes 5 rotations of the 400 meter sprint.  Once all sprints are completed, the partners take turns as they see fit to complete whatever remains of the collective distance of 6000 meters on the rower. 

PART B: Back to sprinting!  One partner hops on the Assault Bike as the other sprints away!  Just a 100 meter sprint in this part, but each partner will complete TEN rounds of sprints while alternating on the bike.  The collective total for biking here is 4000 meters.  Once all sprints are complete for each partner, either one may work on the bike in whatever rotation the partners desire.

The team with the fastest finish time wins!  There is a 40 minute time cap for this competition.  Multiple heats will run throughout the morning and all heats will be judged against each other - meaning, the winning time in the first heat of the day may still be beaten by a faster time of another team later in the day.

RAIN DATE - this is an outdoor competition and in the case of inclement weather, the entire competition will be rescheduled to October 25, 2020.
