Brain Booster 5K

 

Rachael’s Ribbons of Hope Foundation is hosting the Brain Booster 5K on March 28, 2015:

 

This is not your ordinary run; the Brain Booster 5K is so much more!  Set at the USAF Academy Field House with beautiful views of the Air Force Academy and overlooking Colorado Springs.  This is a challenging but fun course professionally timed.  If you’re not a runner or walker you can come out to cheer on the runners and enjoy the festivities that include prizes (for paid registrants), vendors, food, music and more. The Brain Booster 5k is a family event and friendly dogs are welcome too!

This event is on a military installation please DO NOT bring backpacks, hydration packs are allowed.  Be sure to have your ID, car registration and insurance to get on to the base.  The Brain Booster 5K/Annual Running for Rachael is not part of the Department of Defense or any of its components and has no governmental affiliations.

 

Again this year we are offering the “Remote Runner” category.  With this category you sign up as a runner but don’t have to be here to participate.  If you preregister you will receive your bag and t-shirt in time for the run.  Then you run or walk in support of the Brain Booster 5K and Rachael’s Ribbons of Hope from where you are.  We will have a board at the event showing our Remote Runner’s names, city and state where they are at.  If you register after the preregistration cut off we will get your bag and shirt out to you as soon as possible but you will still be listed as a Remote Runner on the day of the event. 

 

Rachael's Ribbons of Hope Foundation is a 501.c.3 nonprofit organization our mission is to raise awareness and money for pediatric brain tumor research at the Brain Tumor Institute at Children's National Medical Center.  This foundation is in memory of Rachael Newton, my daughter who passed away at the age of 14 from a brain tumor.  

 

FAQ:

Same day registration and check in will begin at 9:00am with the run/walk starting at 10:00am.  

 

If the weather is bad and the base is shut down the run/walk will either have to be postponed or cancelled, that information will be posted online at www.RROH.org/events as soon as we have the information. 

 

Early bag pick up will be at the Colorado Running Company at UVC

 

Enter the Academy through the North Gate after 8am.

 

Dogs welcome must be on a leash.

 

Strollers welcome

 

Results will be posted online approximately 2-3 hours after the run at www.RROH.org/events
