New Date: October 3rd, 2020
In keeping with current CDC guidelines and the latest actions taken by the State of Connecticut in response to the current COVID-19 outbreak, we are officially announcing that this year's Salmon River Run will not be taking place on May 9th. We apologize for the inconvenience and have rescheduled with the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection to hold the event on Saturday, October 3rd at 10:00am. If this new date conflicts with other plans you may already have and you would like a refund, please let us know.
This earth-friendly road race features a spectacularly scenic course in rural Eastern Connecticut that begins and ends at the Comstock covered bridge and follows the Salmon River through State Forest and along an old railroad bed. The race features varied terrain of pavement, dirt road and improved trail, a fast downhill finish, two water stops, an awards ceremony, and an amazing post-race barbecue.
The guided 2.5 mile ramble is a lovely walk along the banks of the Salmon River on trails through the State Forest and includes entry to the post-race barbecue. It is perfect for those not quite up to the task of a run but who may be accompanying a friend or family member running the race and will give you something to do while you wait for your loved one to cross the finish.
