2020 Pamby Ridgefield Half Marathon and 7-Miler

Sun October 18, 2020 Ridgefield, CT 06877 US Directions
2020 Pamby Ridgefield Half Marathon & 7-Miler Cancelled

Due to the ongoing and fluctuating COVID situation in our area, we are unable to hold this race this year. We are sad and disappointed, but the safety of participants, volunteers, and spectators comes first. Registered runners will have 2 options:

  • Defer registration to the 2021 race (fall of 2021, TBD)
  • Full refund.

We hope that you'll consider turning all or part of your refund into a donation to the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, the race's beneficiary. You can use the "donate" button at the top of the main race page to make a direct donation.

Note that we are not offering a virtual option. But keep moving forward anyway!

Here Are Your Options:

We will defer your registration to the 2021 date once it is set (likely October 2021), and look forward to having you join us. Once you choose this option, you do not need to take any further action.

Note that if you defer, and then decide not the run the race in 2021, there are no refunds, only one more deferrment to 2022. Also, you cannot change your mind for a refund once you choose this option. Thanks for understanding!

We understand. We hope you can join us next time. If you choose full refund, we will refund your registration fee by October 18, 2020. You will have to sign up for next year's race again at that time.  Once you choose this option, you do not need to take any further action.

Please consider making a donation directly to the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield. The donation button can be found at the top of the main race page. Donations will be open until October 21, 2020. Note that we cannot refund any donations made during the original registration process.

The Pamby Ridgefield Half Marathon and 7-Miler is a beautiful race featuring classic fall New England scenery. The race is beginner-friendly, and contains some of prettiest roads in Fairfield County! The race starts on East Ridge Road, just above the The Boys and Girls Club of Ridgefield, with a few gradual climbs to keep you honest. It then settles into a nice rolling course that winds through southern Ridgefield for two loops that showcase some of the flattest miles in the town. With a fast downhill into downtown Ridgefield and back to the Boys and Girls Club, you're sure to finish strong and smiling!

You get:

  • Classic Connecticut scenic course
  • Race support including water and Nuun Endurance at aid stations
  • "Race Central" with gathering areas for runners and spectators with a live band
  • Beer and sliders for all finishers (21+ only for the beer)
  • Lifestyle tee
  • Commemorative finisher's medal
  • Prize money for top three overall finishers male & female. Age group awards are also given out.
  • FREE professional race photos

THERE ARE NO REFUNDS FOR THIS RACE, this includes medical issues. We have to plan and pay for runner gifts and vendors will in advance. You may defer your entry to 2021 for a $5 fee. Click here to find out how to defer. Race goes on rain or shine.

Need to transfer to Early Start or later start? Click here to find out how. YOU HAVE UNTIL OCTOBER 10 at MIDNIGHT TO DO SO. NO EVENT TRANSFERS AFTER THAT DATE. What happens if I'm signed up for the 13.1 and I just run the 7-Miler instead?  We won't stop you and that's totally your choice, but you will have a DQ in the results, because you registered as 13.1 but didn't finish 13.1. There will be timing mats on the course and the two distances have different color bibs. Please don't ask our timer or the race director to change your event on race day.

The Ridgefield Half Marathon offers an early start for those runners that plan to run 2:30 hours or more.  PLEASE ONLY SELECT THIS OPTION IF YOU ARE PLANNING ON RUNNING 11:30/mile or slower. In order to provide you a safe and enjoyable experience and to avoid difficulties with timing and police support, please do not sign up for this option if you intend on running faster than 2 hours and 30 minutes. If you're not sure, sign up for the early start. You can always change it up until one week before the race.

  • Race Start for 2:30:00 runners and longer in half marathon only: 7:15 AM
  • Mass Start half marathon: 7:45 AM
  • Mass Start for 7-Miler: 7:50 AM

We WILL have in-person day-of registration BUT!... Please allow time to sign up on our kiosks and note that the race day price is $65You may pay with credit card, check (made out to Run On, LLC), or cash. Exact change is appreciated.

VIP OPTION AVAILABLE! For a donation of $200 to the Boys & Girls Club of Ridgefield, you get a race entry, VIP parking the day of the race, and an exclusive lifestyle T-shirt. You may make your donation at the donation page or by clicking the "donate" button above. The Race Director will contact you in the weeks before the race to confirm your VIP arrangements.

Parking is available at Yanity Gym, East Ridge Middle School, and Veteran's Park School.  More parking is available just off Governor Street and Main. Parking lots are all within a 1/2 mile of the course and are FREE. There will be no race day parking at the Ridgefield Boys and Girls Club or RVNA.

  • Are strollers and dogs allowed on the race? NO strollers or dogs for safety reasons.
  • Can I wear headphones? We would prefer that you not wear headphones. The roads are not closed to traffic and you need to be able to hear your surroundings and police/course marshal instructions. Runners wearing headphones will not be eligible for awards.
  • I'm doing the Early Start option for the Half Marathon. Am I eligible for awards? No. If you think you might earn an award, you must use the 7:45/7:50 main start.
  • I can't run. Can I just give someone else my bib? NO!  For safety reasons, we need to know exactly who is on the course. If a runner needs medical attention we use the info from the race bib to make emergency contacts. Plus, wearing another's bib can interfere with the age group and even overall race results. Please do not "give" your bib to others.
  • If I'm signed up for the Half Marathon, can I decide to run the 7-Miler on race day? And vice-versa? Well, we're not going to stop you, but we will have timing mats on the course and we'll see how many laps you did. The 13.1 and the 7-Miler also have different color race bibs. If there is a discrepancy between what you signed up for and what you ran, you will receive a DQ in the results. (Also, if you run the 13.1 when you were signed up for and paid for the 7-Miler, that's just not cool.)
  • My friend/spouse/child is not registered. Can he/she just run with me? NO! This is called "banditing" and is essentially using race resources without paying for them. It's also a safety issue, and even if that person doesn't take the medal or use the potties, they are still using resources they haven't paid for. We have capacity limits set for the race as per Ridgefield Police Dept, so it's also like crashing a wedding or party you didn't RSVP for. Please don't bandit races, it's just being a jerk.
  • I can't make it to Package Pick Up, can a friend pick up for me?  YES.
  • Does the race happen rain or shine?  You bet!  Unless there is a natural disaster that prevents a safe race course, there will be a race!
  • I can't race, can I get a refund? Sorry, no refunds or transfers for any reason; races are planned months in advance. We pay vendors and have to buy runner gifts quite early in the planning process (it's a bit like a wedding!). You can defer your entry to the 2021 race for a $5 fee. Log into your account and go to "participant management" to make a deferral. Last day to defer is 10/10/20.
