Walking on Sunshine

11:00AM EDT - 2:00PM EDT

Description

Walking on Sunshine is a “fundraiser for fundraisers”, with the goal of bringing our community together. As a family friendly afternoon, we are excited to provide live music, district artists, food, a raffle, and many more activities— all in addition to fundraising for our local charities.

You will be able to walk around the track and visit each charities' booth, where you can directly donate to those of your choosing; we respect how personal this process can be!

Be the apart of the first to sign up to secure free ice cream! You will also receive a complementary Mikee's Place sandwich, chips, and water within your registration. All proceeds from registration will be equally divided between the present organizations.

Day-of registrants are welcome!

About Our Charities

Words from our organizations

Ben's Bells

Ben’s Bells educates communities about the skills we need to make kindness part of our daily lives. The mission is to teach about the positive impacts of intentional kindness and to inspire people to practice kindness as a way of life.

Be The Match

As a National Marrow Donor Program, we will be collecting saliva swabs that will go into the registry in hopes to match with someone who is need of a bone marrow transplant. We also conduct research which has had a significant impact on blood cancer survival and other diseases, and improving the quality of life for thousands of transplant patients. We are relentless in our search to find answers that will lead to better donor matching, more timely transplants, and treatment of even more blood diseases through transplant.

Closer to Free

One hundred percent of the funds raised by Riders and Volunteers fuel the unparalleled research and care at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center. Courage Rides With Us. Determination Rides With us. People We’ve Lost Ride With Us. People Undergoing Treatment Ride With us. The Next Generation Rides With Us. And above all… HOPE RIDES WITH US.

Companion Pet Rescue

CPR’s mission is rescuing and rehoming abandoned and neglected dogs. Companion Pet Rescue’s name was chosen very deliberately– we focus our efforts on friendly, social, loving companion pets.

Little Britches

We strive to enrich the lives of people with disabilities through therapeutic riding and equine-assisted activities.  Little Britches improves physical strength, facilitates sensory integration, and provides recreation for a lifetime.

Otto Strong Forever

The Otto Funderburk Fund was established by Otto's family in his memory to provide support for local college-bound students, community endeavors and a reach goal to provide grants to support families enduring critical childhood care. Otto was an inspiration to the community, he lived in for his strength, positive nature, perseverance and kindness he showed toward others. Thank you for your kind support. At this event, don’t forget to sign up for the Otto Strong Wiffle ball Tournament and get the T-shirt for only $15! Today only. Stop by our booth for some Wiffle balls
