Annual Fundraiser Goes Virtual for 2nd Year:
RUN Apart & GIVE Together

The 35th annual Celebrate! West Hartford community festival should be taking place in early June 2021, featuring the award-winning arts & crafts show, carnival rides, live music, a food court, and business and non-profit exhibitors and a 5K road race. Unfortunately, because COVID-19 still lingers, the 2021 festival has been canceled for a second year. However, we will hold several virtual events in June to celebrate our community including the 5K run and a distance challenge to support local charities. While we provide competition for runners of all ages and abilities, we also support our community in a meaningful way.  

The Celebrate! West Hartford 5K road race has traditionally supported the Leisure Services Scholarship Fund to help send kids in need to summer camp and swim lessons. Many of our neighbors continue to face financial hardships due to COVID-19, so for a second year in a row, the FUNd RUNS will also support The Town That Cares which helps West Hartford families in crisis. 

The 2021 FUNd RUNS will feature the Virtual 5K and a new, month-long Distance Challenge. Participants can do either or both challenges in June -- anytime, anywhere -- for a $20 entry fee for each event. Each registrant will receive a special commemorative T-shirt. Sign up for both events and you'll also get a limited edition water bottle and save $5! Participants have the option to post stats online, so that those with the fastest times or most traversed miles can earn bragging rights!

Our hope is to have 2,021 participants run or walk the streets of West Hartford (appropriately distanced, of course!) while wearing your shirts and showing your Town spirit.
