Join the movement!

A virtual challenge supporting the Black Lives Matter movement and the BLM Ride on Washington DC.

We are offering five ways to get involved and support the Black Lives Matter and Social Justice movement. Virtually ride the complete 1,223 route from Minneapolis MN to Washington DC. Virtually Run/Hike/Walk or Cycle the final 335 miles along the GAP Trail and C&O Canal Tow-Path trail from Pittsburgh PA to Washington DC. You can choose the Multi-Sport Ride/Run combo for all of your multi-sport people covering the full 1,223-mile distance.

Are you up for the challenge?!?!

Yes! From August 1, 2020, you will have until midnight, December 31, to complete the route you choose.

Let's break it down. For either the Virtual ride or Multi-Sport distance, that is an easy 61 miles a week.

For the other challenges, the distance is 16 miles a week.

Live Map Progress Tracking!

You will be able to see your progress along the route as you enter your mileage! Our live map tracking feature will even allow you to see where your fellow challengers are on the map compared to you - now that's some motivation!

BLM Ride, Virtually!!

Minneapolis MN to Washington DC, via GAP Trail and C&O Canal Tow-Path

Cycle along virtually the complete ride starting in Minneapolis MN. Ride through southern Wisconsin, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio. Meet up with the GAP Trail in Pittsburgh PA and traverse southeast through Maryland and connect with the C&O Canal Tow-Path trail for the final push and arrive in Washington DC.

Do a shorter ride starting at the GAP Trail in Pittsburgh PA

 

Run, Hike or Walk

Do the GAP and C&O Virtually on foot!!

Multi-Sport option available

For you triathletes/duathletes! Do whatever mileage works for you either Cycling or Run/Walking.

We are asking for contributions to support the Black Lives Matter movement and Black Lives Matter Ride on Washington for Social Justice  Any donation, no matter the size, will help this worthy cause. #nomoresilence

All general donations will go to the Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation (BLM Global Network Foundation), a US nonprofit global organization.

Black Lives Matter Global Network Foundation, is a global organization in the US, UK, and Canada, whose mission is to eradicate white supremacy and build local power to intervene in violence inflicted on Black communities by state and vigilantes. By combating and countering acts of violence, creating space for Black imagination and innovation, and centering Black joy, we are winning immediate improvements in our lives. 

Support Local Charities supporting Black Lives Matter and Social Justice

Each participant will be encouraged to fundraise. Any donations from fundraising that they receive will go to a local charity they choose in support of BLM and Social Justice facilitated by the Black Lives Matter Ride on Washington 501c3.
