Bundle up and hit the trail for Delaware Wild Lands’ Wild Winter Run 5K—a festive, cross country-style race through some of Delaware’s most scenic protected lands. Whether you’re chasing a fast time or enjoying a winter walk, this event is built for runners and walkers of all levels. The course winds through natural terrain, offering a true cross-country experience across open fields, along forest edges, and on wide trails. It’s a refreshing change from road running and a great way to stay active during the winter months.
Come for the run, stay for the fun. Participants will enjoy festive swag and seasonal awards honoring top finishers and standout efforts.
Every registration supports Delaware Wild Lands’ efforts to protect and restore forests, marshes, and waterways statewide. Your miles help conserve the landscapes wildlife—like Woody Wildlander (DWL’s wood duck mascot) —depends on.

About Delaware Wild Lands
Our mission is to protect and restore Delaware’s important natural areas through the purchase and management of strategic parcels of land.
Since 1961, we played a pivotal role in the acquisition and regulatory protection of 31,800 acres of land, including Delaware’s coastal areas and Great Cypress Swamp.
But we do much more than purchase land.
We own and actively manage 21,800 acres of land to enhance biodiversity and support traditional uses of the land.
We conveyed 10,000 acres of land to the State of Delaware for public recreation and education.
We recognize hunting, farming, and forestry are an important part of Delaware’s local culture and economy.
We use Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) certified forestry practices to restore the ecological functions of our forests while generating a long-term source of revenue for the organization and contributing to the local economy.
