ChristianaCare and the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute have made the difficult decision to cancel the 5th Annual Friends 5K Run/Walk, scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 27, due to forecasted weather conditions and concerns for the safety of participants, volunteers and event staff.
The decision was made after careful review of evolving weather forecasts and potential impacts on the event, with the safety of participants, volunteers, caregivers and community members as the foremost consideration. The annual Friends 5K Run/Walk brings together cancer survivors, patients, families, caregivers and community members in support of the mission of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute. Organizers extend their sincere thanks to everyone who registered, volunteered and sponsored this year's event.
Arrangements are being made for participants to pick up their commemorative T-shirts next week. Additional details will be shared directly with registered participants.

About the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute
Founded in 2002, the Friends of the Helen F. Graham Cancer Center & Research Institute is a volunteer organization working in cooperation with the clinical staff of the Graham Cancer Center to help fund programs that enhance the patient care experience, support cancer research, and provide public education on prevention, early detection and treatment of cancer.
