The River, Roots & Ruts is a great opportunity to experience Florida trail running at its finest. It is suited for experienced trail runners and novices.
While not a course for a PR, it will go down in your log book as a special run. The main event is a 10 Mile Trail Run utilizing both sides of the park: the wide nature trails on the south side and the single lane mountain bike trails on the north side.
Course Time Limit: 3 hours
On line registration closes at 5 p.m. on Saturday March 6, 2021.  Race is capped at 350 participants.  There will be NO race day registration.  NO exceptions.  Participants will be allowed to pickup bibs and packets race day beginning at 7 a.m. at the Caloosahatchee Regional Park pavilion.  Participants are encouraged to register on line any time or in person at the pre-race packet pickup on Saturday, March 6, 2021.
Please be advised when registering for this event, that the event coordinator reserves the right to cancel this event or convert it to a virtual event based on the prevailing CDC and governmental recommendation related to Covid-19. To the extent that the event is cancelled or converted to a virtual event there will be no refunds and your registration fee will be deemed a donation.

The RRR is sanctioned by the Fort Myers Track Club. Proceeds from this event support GiGi’s Playhouse, trail maintenance by the Mudcutters Bicycle Club and the Fort Myers High School Cross Country & Track programs.

Packet pickup and registration
Location:  Run Florida On McGregor, 13101 McGregor Blvd. #1, Fort Myers, FL 33939 (Directions)
Date:  March 6, 2021 
Time:  11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
RACE DAY: Starting at 7:00 a.m. participants may pick-up their packets and bibs at the park pavilion, but there will be NO RACE DAY REGISTRATTION.
Masks required at packet pickup!
COVID 19 Protocols and Guidelines
  • Race entry is limited to 350 runners.
  • There will be no race day registration. Only pre-registered participants will be allowed to pick-up race morning.
  • No spectators will be allowed.
  • All race workers will be masked or socially distanced if unmasked
  • All contestants will be asked to mask up until they run and re-mask after they complete the event. A mask disposal station will be available for runners (on course), for disposal after start. Disposable masks will be provided by race organizers, as needed.
  • There will be no awards ceremony, winners will be asked to stop at Run Florida On McGregor for age group awards or we will mail them afterwards.
  • Runners will receive finisher medals at the finish.
  • There will be no water tables as such.  All runners must bring their own water bottle.  A water refill table will be provided at the halfway point so runners can refill.  Race organizers will provide individual water bottles for refill purposes.  Plastic refill bottles will not be allowed on the course.
  • The race start will be socially distanced, with runners leaving in a time trial fashion, socially distanced prior to and during start.
Lee County Protocols, will be followed additionally
  • Adults 65 years and older and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions are strongly encouraged to avoid large crowds.
  • Do not come to the event if you or any household member has been exposed to a person with COVID-19 within the past 14 days.
  • When there is a lightning delay, all players and spectators shall leave the facility and seek socially distancing safe shelter in their vehicles.
  • If event staff use any indoor areas for their event (excluding restrooms), the disinfecting and cleaning of the used indoor areas will be performed by the event/tournament staff.

All participants receive a finishers shirt and a glass tumbler with the iconic pig logo.
