City of Palms River Run 8K & 2 Miler

New this year, SCHOOL TEAMS! We have added a school team category to both the 8K and 2 Mile Run. With cross country winding down, this is the perfect event for one more chance to take home a team trophy. High school teams compete in the 8K event and middle school teams face-off in the 2-Mile run. The team event is intended to be a school team event. Teams must consist of either male or female members (minimum of 3 and maximum 5). Awards will be given to the top male and female teams for both the 8K and 2-Mile run. Awards are based on the top 3 cumulative (aggregate) times for each team. Individuals registered for a team are also eligible for individual awards. Winning middle and high school teams will receive a traveling belt to be displayed at their school for the entire year. We do not want to leave out the elementary school competitors. Elementary age competitors will compete in 2-mile event with the same scoring and team format and winning teams will be awarded individual trophies.

The first 250 participants receive a race specific unisex t-shirt.

• Sign-up for the City of Palms River Run 8K Run & 2-Mile Walk. Once you complete your registration, you will receive an email with a unique URL link to share with your friends and family.
• When you have received 5 referrals and friends & family register by utilizing your unique URL, you will receive $20 credited back. An additional 5 referrals will result in a full refund of your individual registration.

Please share your Virtual City of Palms River Run 8K Run & 2-Mile Walk experience with other participants.  After participant results are uploaded, participants may return to their results page, upload and tag their photos. You can also tag and share your race photos on Instagram #FMTCRiverRun.

This event will be timed with the ChronoTrack Bib Tag Technology. Your Timing Strip is attached to your race number.  Do not remove this tag, fold or wrinkle your race number. Do not cover your race number (Tag) with a jacket.  Simply pin all four corners to the front of your running shirt.

Unregistered participants, unauthorized vehicles, bicycles, roller blades, skates, skateboards, strollers and pets are strictly prohibited.  Baby joggers are allowed but participants must start and remain at the back of the runners/walkers, thereby not interfering (passing, swerving between) with the other participants.

Temperatures/humidity can be high in South Florida. Participants should drink plenty of fluid (non-alcoholic) for 48 hours prior to, during and upon finishing the race. Beware of heat-injury symptoms (dizziness, no sweating, nausea, cramps, redness, incoherent speech and thoughts). Seek immediate assistance if symptoms occur. Wear loose, light-colored clothing.
