Description

The 3rd Annual Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay is going virtual in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Run anywhere, anytime, with family or friends, together or apart.  Times will be accepted until to midnight on December 20th, 2020.

  • Participants can choose to utilize the RaceJoy App and receive real-time support from your friends and family with live tracking and cheers! Your time will be submitted automatically through the RaceJoy App upon completion of your amazing race.
  • Are you a minimalist runner and prefer to run without a phone? Times can also be entered manually utilizing a GPS watch or a known 13.1-mile course and a watch.
  • If you prefer not to enter a time and just enjoy the exercise, participants may also choose to complete the event without entering a time.

Entry fee is discounted 20% for all Fort Myers Track Club Members.

Packet Pick-Up & Mailing Information (Please read carefully)

For residents of Lee County there will be a packet pick-up.  Race organizers will not mail packets to participants residing in Lee County.
Packet Pick-up: We encourage participants to have a friend or family member pick-up their packets if they are unavailable or out of town during the designated pick-up date & time.
 
**Participants must be registered by December 14, 2020 to pick-up at the  December 20, 2020 packet pick-up. Anyone Registered after Dec. 14 can pick-up their packets at RUN FLORIDA on McGREGOR during regular business hours.  Shirt orders are based on participants' specific registration choice, sizes cannot be exchanged.
 
IF YOU REGISTERED FOR THE BUNDLE (GOBBLER SPECIAL) & LIVE IN LEE COUNTY, YOUR PACKET WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE NOVEMBER 21, 2020 PACKET PICK-UP & ALL SUBSEQUENT PACKET PICK-UP TIMES & LOCATIONS.

What You Will Receive

All participants receive a race and gender specific tri-blend short sleeve t-shirt and a finisher medal.

Proceeds

Proceeds for the 3rd Annul Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay will benefit two Lee County non-profit organizations Kimmie's Recovery Zone & Hope Parkinson Program.
 
 
 
 
The Hope Parkinson Program works closely with like-minded community organizations to provide a network of resources and education for people affected by Parkinson's disease and related movement disorders. Since launching in 2009, the Hope Parkinson Program has enabled more than 3,000 people in Lee County to experience the fullness of life through knowledge, movement and fellowship. As a community service provided by Hope Healthcare, the program is offered at no charge to participants and care partners.
 
 
Kimmie's Recovery Zone
 
 Kimmie's Recovery Zone is a recovery community organization (RCO), an independent, non-profit organization led and governed by representatives of local communities of recovery. These organizations facilitate recovery-focused policy advocacy activities, carry out recovery-focused community education and outreach programs, and/or provide peer-based recovery support services.
 
Kimmie’s Recovery Zone empowers and serves our community by providing multiple pathways of recovery support, designing wellness plans, public education, advocacy policies and resources to increase the quality of long-term recovery from mental health and substance use disorders.

We are providing you with RaceJoy as part of the official race experience for the Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay.

Manual Entry of Results

If participants prefer to not use the *RaceJoy app on your phone, results may be entered manually or participants may choose the option to complete the event without entering a time.
 
SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULTS
 
Times must be posted before December 20, 2020 (11:59PM).  All event participants may post times here SUBMIT VIRTUAL RESULTS.  This link can also be found under the results section of the race website for the Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay.
 
*For participants utilizing the RaceJoy app, results will be submitted automatically upon completion of the event.

HOW IT WORKS

  • Sign-up for the Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay. Once you complete your registration, you will receive an email with a unique URL link to share with your friends and family.
  • When you have received 5 referrals and friends & family register by utilizing your unique URL, you will receive $20 credited back. An additional 5 referrals will result in a full refund of your individual registration.

Fundraising & Donations

Do you want to run with a purpose and help raise money for our charities?

  • Raise or Donate $250 and receive a refund on your registration fee (minimum fundraising fee is $50).
  • Raise or Donate $500 or more and receive a very cool FMTC performance fleece zip-hoodie & a refund on your registration.

Photo Uploads

Please share your Virtual Lazy Flamingo Half Marathon & 2-Person Relay experience with other participants.  After participant results are uploaded, participants may return to their results page, upload and tag their photos. You can also tag and share your race photos on Instagram #FMTCLazyHalf.
