Joggin’ for the Noggin! 5K presented by Regal Lakeland has been a tremendous success for the past eight years, and is a favorite Halloween-themed race. This event has given Polk State College Foundation the opportunity to raise over $68,000 to support student scholarships and programs on the Lakeland campus.
Now celebrating its ninth year, this year’s event offers a new twist to our Halloween-themed race – run or walk in support of Polk State at a day/time of your choosing, October 1 - 31! Participants can run, jog, or walk this 3.1 race or complete a shorter distance with the one-mile Walkin’ While Talkin’ sponsored by Citizens Bank & Trust.
Proceeds from the race are invested back into the Lakeland Food Pantry on the Lakeland Campus, the Polk State Women's Soccer team, and to support student scholarships. Although we are running and walking apart, there are still ways to come together for this event! Use the hashtag #PolkStateJ4TN to post pictures on Facebook of you and your friends (socially distancing) at your personal finish line!

Where do the proceeds go?
Proceeds from the Virtual Joggin for the Noggin 5k and 1 Mile benefit the Polk State College Foundation to support scholarships and programs on the Lakeland Campus, including the Lakeland Food Pantry and Polk State Women's Soccer team. (Since this is a fundraiser, and set up as a virtual run, there will be no refunds)
What is included with the race entry?
All registered participants receive a moisture wicking Joggin' for the Noggin! 5K shirt (men's, women's cut, and youth sizes guaranteed until October 1), and a themed neck gaiter. Race packets will be mailed out by October 15.
Is this a "Live" timed race/event?
Unfortunately not at this time. This will be a "Virtual" event and you can run or walk your virtual run anywhere and at any pace you want. However, with your RunSignUp account profile, you can access the Joggin for the Noggin Race and select results, search for your name and submit your miles ran, your time and even a selfie!
When can we register?
Registration opens September 1 and you may complete your race on a day and time of your choosing from October 1 - October 31, 2020. However, if you wait there might not be any shirts left. Registration cutoff date to be guaranteed a shirt is Oct 1. After that the shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis and sizes as available.
When and where can I get my packet?
Race packets will be mailed to each participant to the address used for registration. The packets will be mailed by October 15.
