Description
ROAD KILL TIMING is proudly presenting a 5k Run/Walk to benefit Brighter Days Childhood Cancer Org. This is our 6th annual 5k, which was organized after our three and a half year old granddaughter, Aven, was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of soft tissue cancer, Alveolor Rhabdomyosarcoma. There is no cure for this type of pediatric cancer and very little funding. Aven's cancer has been in remission for the past four and a half years and, thankfully at present, she is enjoying the life of a typical eight year old. However, at best she will be battling a lifetime of long term side effects from her treatments which have included surgeries, 42 weeks of chemotheraphy and a month of daily proton radiation. Unfortunately, Aven is just one of many children fighting this battle.
This is a Road Kill Timing LLC event, which donates 100% of the proceeds from this race to Brighter Days Childhood Cancer Org. Inc. a 501(c)3. This Foundation will not only help Aven, if the need should arise, but many other families whose child is being treated for cancer. To date, this Foundation has already helped more than 50 families with financial assistance for expenses not covered by insurance. Several thousand dollars raised for this foundation have also been earmarked to help fund a clinical trial for ARMS, however much more is needed. Together we can make a difference. Thank you for your participation!
