*VIRTUAL ONLY* - 5th Annual Fostering LIFE Day 5K

Due to circumstances beyond our control, we have made the difficult decision to transition this year’s event to a VIRTUAL 5K experience.

Participants will still have the opportunity to complete the race virtually on May 31, 2026, and upload their run/walk results directly to the race webpage if they choose to participate.

Here Are Your Options:

Virtual races happen all the time, and allow you to join the fun without the crowds. You simply run the distance on your own, and report your results - we’ll send you instructions.

Any registration fees and/or donations made may be refunded upon request. We deeply appreciate your support and understanding as we navigate this unexpected change. All refunds can and should be requested by 5/29/26.

Additional race information can be found at http://www.fosteringLIFE.org/events.

The race will begin at the corner of Berne St. and Boulevard Ave. Those racing in the 5K will along the perimeter and within Grant Park.

Description

Join us VIRTUALLY for the Fostering LIFE 5K held during National Foster Care Month. This event brings together runners, families, caregivers, and community members to raise awareness about the current state of foster care in Georgia and the critical needs of youth in care and the families who support them. Whether you’re running  walking alongside others in support, your participation helps shine a light on the realities facing children and caregivers within the foster care system.

**New This Year: Community-Powered & Free to Register**

To remove barriers to participation, registration for this event is free. Participants are invited to give what they can at registration or on event day. All donations directly support Fostering LIFE’s work and ensure this event remains accessible while advancing its mission.

Why This Event Matters

Fostering LIFE is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering youth impacted by foster care to excel in leadership, independence, faith, and education. We also recognize that supporting youth requires supporting caregivers, including foster and kinship parents, who play a vital role in stability and long-term outcomes.

Funds raised through this event directly support:

 - Annual scholarships for graduating seniors in foster care

 - College readiness kits to support successful postsecondary transitions

 - Programs that strengthen both youth and the caregivers who walk alongside them

After the race, stay and celebrate at our Community Festival, featuring family-friendly activities, music, food, and opportunities to learn more about how you can support foster youth year-round. This event is an opportunity to move with purpose, raise awareness, and invest in futures that too often go unsupported.

Rooted in Purpose. Growing Forward.
