Description

The 8th annual Reynoldstown .5K Race takes place on Saturday, September 7, 2024 at the Wheelbarrow Festival. Our .5K (.31 mile) race route begins at Upper Lang-Carson Park. This is a fun way to raise money and show support for our neighborhood with minimal effort on a Saturday afternoon! Run, walk or stroll about five blocks (or .31 miles or 1642 steps). 

Bib and T-Shirt Pickup:

  • Friday, September 6, from 6-730pm: Upper Lang Carson Park
  • Saturday, September 7 starting at 10am. Look for the .5K tent on the Basketball court. Please note: the lineup for the race is at 1145am so don't be late!

T-Shirts

T-shirts are guaranteed for all .5K entrants on/or before August 15, 2024.  *** Additional shirts will be ordered as needed right after the race, with a pickup time and date announced after the Festival. Thanks!

Route Description

Gather in the Upper Lang-Carson Park, next to the Community Center parking lot on Flat Shoals Ave SE. Race lineup starts at 11:45am, and the race starts at 12pm sharp. Don’t be late, it’ll be over in a few minutes! Here’s the route:

  • Run south on Flat Shoals, veering right onto Gibson St. SE.
  • Go right at Kirkwood Ave. SE and cruise on by the .1 mile marker.
  • Take a right onto the Eastside Beltline Trail. Stick to the right side!
  • As you pass the .2 mile marker, look for the Stumpery Garden with its Tiny Doors ATL log on your left.
  • Pass mile marker .3 and finish the race strong next to Breaker Breaker.

Return to the start: Keep going on the Beltline, then turn right and around the corner back to Flat Shoals then head back to the green space by Lang Carson. The awards ceremony will be held following the race at 12:45pm. Finishers get a great t-shirt and the chance to win other awesome goodies!

Speediest: M and F 11 and under

Speediest M and F 12 and up 

Snazziest: (best costume or neighborhood pride): Self entry and applause vote after race.

Serendipity: winners selected via Random number generator.
