Walk for Women's Rights

UPDATE: HI! I have gotten a lot of messages from people who live out of town and want to join. So feel free to join from wherever you live even if you don't have access to the park. You can log walks from anywhere from your treadmill to your street. Walk On!!

Register here to walk, run, bike, or crawl 83 laps (257.3 miles) around Chastain Park in support of Planned Parenthood. In the wake of the Supreme Court overturning  Roe v Wade, it is only a matter of time before Georgia puts strict abortion bans into place. The 83 laps represent the 83 cents a woman earns for every dollar a man earns. At least 22,800 women die annually as a result of complications from unsafe abortion. Woman's rights are human rights and abortion is healthcare we need to protect the right to safe abortions. This is a fundraiser but the person who completes the 83 laps first will receive a basket full of Planned Parenthood goodies. While the winner will receive a prize that is beside the point, this fundraiser is supposed to create a friendly competition for those who regularly walk the park while simultaneously contributing to an important cause.
