Description
The world looks a little different for everyone right now but none more so than children living with a new heart. Enduring Hearts and Big Gifts for Little Lives are partnering to host the inaugural 17-day Race for Resilience virtual event. We believe pediatric heart transplants should last forever, and that no child should have an expiration date on their second chance at life. But sadly, a heart transplant is not a cure, lasting on average, only 17 years, primarily due to organ rejection.
Enduring Hearts is the only non-profit that focuses on funding vital research aimed at making a heart transplant a last forever. We fund the often-overlooked research needed to help eliminate rejection, prevent life-threatening complications, and improve the quality of life for all children living with a new heart.
The Race for Resilience will run for 17 days, September 13 – 29, 2020, culminating on World Heart Day. We have set a collective 1700-kilometer goal for all participants because 17 years is not a lifetime for a child.
If you are able to fundraise over $500 before World Heart Day (9/29), you will receive a FREE Race for Resilience T-Shirt as a token of our appreciation!
