Pride Run 5k and All American 5k Beginner Training Program

Come train with us! Completely free for Peachtree City Running Club Members and Panasonic Employees and Contractors!

Starting approximately ten weeks before the annual Atlanta Pride Run 5k a Peachtree City Running Club coach will host a free “beginner 5k” training program for Peachtree City Running Club members and Panasonic employees and contractors, and you’re invited! We know there are members of our community who want to start running for health, fitness, a sense of accomplishment, or other reasons, and we’d love to offer the opportunity. We’re offering a training plan (rolling start from March 29 to April 5), once weekly in-person group coaching on Wednesdays (starting April 22), and support/help by email.

Where: Panasonic parking lot, close to the cart path access point (visitors to Panasonic, please park near there, immediately on left when you enter Panasonic at the north entrance at Highway 74 and Dividend Drive)

When: In-person at 5:45 p.m. Wednesdays from April through the Pride Run 5k held on Sunday, June 7 at Piedmont Park, Atlanta. The training plan has five days per week of training comprising walk, run/walk, or run sessions of distances from 1 to 4 miles gradually working towards a goal of running to complete the Pride Run 5k. We'll target the All American 5k on Saturday, May 16, as a intermediate event.

Key dates:

-Registration period: Sunday 3/23/26- Saturday 4/4/26

-Training period: Start from Sunday 3/29/26 through Sunday 4/5/26 (start on any of these dates)

-Initial meetups start: Wednesday 4/22/26 but we may start earlier depending on participant interest

What: A training session followed by a short info session on warming-up, shoes and gear, hydration, nutrition, injuries, and other topics. The coach will email a training program with directions on how to get started after registration is complete.

Note: you must register separately for the Pride Run 5k (note complimentary entries may be available), All American 5k, and either be a Panasonic employee/contractor or become a PTCRC club member (https://ptcrc.com/join-the-club/). Participation in this training program does not guarantee entry into the Pride Run 5k or All American 5k, nor does it register you as a Peachtree City Running Club member. 5k Training Program limited to 30 participants.
