Description
Event Description
This year the Hull Ambulance 5K will begin near the corner of Main and 3rd Streets on the property of First Reformed Church. Athletes will follow the course from the starting line north on Main Street and turn left on 5th Street by Western Christian High School.
From there, runners will continue westward, crossing Division street until turning north on Birch Street. Runners will then proceed around the Liberty Heights housing loop - to Monroe Street and Brown Street - before turning west again on 5th Street.
Following 5th Street westward, runners will then proceed to Hayes Avenue and turn south. They will continue running southbound until reaching Railroad Street where they will advance to the east.
Runners will then continue on Railroad Street, passing by Pleasant Acres care facility, briefly heading north on Brown St. before heading eastbound again on Railroad. They will cross Division Street, passing by the Hull Ambulance shed and continue past Pizza Rance on Main Street.
One block after crossing Main Street, runners will then turn northbound on Maple Street and run for 5 blocks towards Western Christian High School on 5th Street.
Upon reaching 5th Street, runners will head westward once again where they will connect on Main Street and make their final push towards the finish line southward up the hill near 3rd and Main Streets.
Post race supplements will be provided by Fareway Meat and Grocery of Hull and be distributed on the lawn of First Reformed Church.
Participants and fans are encouraged to remain there until the awards ceremony at 8:30.
*Disclaimer: The Hull Ambulance 5K is not a certified race, but is based on a measured distance.
Event Parking
For best parking, race participants are encouraged to park EITHER in the parking lot of First Reformed Church OR anywhere along streets that are East of Main. Because of the parade that will start after the 5K, we have been asked by the city to keep ALL traffic east of Main. This will help with the vehicle flow and congestion of during post race and pre-parade traffic. The city and race event organizers thank you for your understanding and cooperation with this in advance!

Awards structure will be as follows:
Award ceremony will begin at 8:45 on the northeast lawn of First Reformed Church.
Award medals will be given for all finishers as well as the top male and female finishers from age group division.
The overall male and female winners will be excluded from their age group awards and will receive their own medal along with a $50 gift card to the Grain House coffee shop in Hull.
The overall winners will be determined by the gun time. This means that, athletes trying to grab the top spot awards of overall finishers should be prepared to start the race when the gun goes off, not by when they cross the timing mat. This will create an ideal photo finish and clear any confusion about who the first overall male and female athlete.
