Description

The Helping Hand Run & Jam is a 5k race to raise money and awareness for food insecurity in Warren County. All race profits will be donated to Helping Hand, Indianola's local food pantry. To sign up for the race, you can bring five non-perishable food items, three non-stained/damaged clothing items, or pay $10 when registering. Check-in for the race will begin at 10 am and end at 10:50 on the 21st behind Outside Scoop and next to the Medicap. Run & Jam is for anyone from a seasoned runner ready to get a new PR to someone looking for a relaxing Saturday morning walk with friends to help a great cause. This event is a down-and-back race on a paved trail (Summerset Trail), so participants can have stable ground while they run. To provide entertainment for runners and spectators, we will have KNIA's Big Red Radio to help amp up the beginning of the race and speakers playing along the whole trail to keep the fun going. You can use street parking or go to the back parking lot of Wells Fargo (follow signage). Carpooling is highly recommended. Indianola Hyvee will provide water and snacks at the end of the raceHungry after running? You can purchase burgers and brats grilled by members of Simpson College Lambda Chi Alpha (all profits will go to Helping Hand) and get a free popsicle handed out at the stand. If you would like a t-shirt, please sign up here before September 5th at 1 pm. If you have any questions, please call/text at (712) 790-1600 or email us at max.meyers@my.simpson.edu. We're excited to see you on September 21st, ready to jam out!
