Mayor's Run for the Trails 5K + Kids Fun Run

Meet us on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at the Terra Park Amphitheater. Check-in begins at 8:30 AM for those who do not pick up their packet on Friday. All racers should be ready to go by 9:00 AM near the start line. Once the kids' 100-meter dash is completed, the 0.62-mile kids will race, and then the 5K walkers will start. 5K runners will begin at 9:30 AM. The Mayor will give finisher medals as you cross the finish line!

5K Walk & Run Registration

• Race Registration increases to $40.00 (plus fees) after September 21, 2026, at 11:59 pm CDT, and participants will not receive a t-shirt. 

Kids' (<10) Fun Runs Registration

The kids' 100-Meter dash and the 0.62-mile run around the lake are fun, untimed dashes for our kiddos ages 10 and under. Registration includes a mini bib, a youth-sized shirt, and a medal! If your child wants to run the kids' dash and doesn't want the SWAG, they are welcome to run with us on race day for free, registration not required!

• 100-Meter Fun Run: Ages 2-5

  • COST: $15 + $1.90 Sign-Up Fee + Tax

  • Option to run for free, no advance registration needed; No t-shirt or finisher medal for these participants.

• 0.62 Mile Around the Lake: Ages 6-10

  • COST: $15 + $1.90 Sign-Up Fee + Tax

Registration closes for all races at 8:45 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026. 
Register by Monday, September 21, 2026, to get a t-shirt!

Packets: We encourage participants to pick up their packets on Friday, October 9, from 4-6 p.m. at Crown Point Community Center, 6300 Pioneer Parkway, Johnston, IA. If you cannot pick them up on Friday, packets will be available on race morning starting at 8:30 AM. 

Mayor's Run Branded Items: T-shirts and finisher medals are included with all races! After September 21st, a t-shirt will not be provided with registration, and finish medals will be given out to all participants, as supplies last.  

Food: Bagels, water, and fruit will be available after the race.   

Photos: Runners will be photographed during the event. We encourage you to take a selfie and tag us using #MayorsRunforTrails2026.

Prizes by Age Group: Only 5K runners are eligible for the age group winners. Top prizes are awarded to females and males in specific age groups.
