Description
IRIS is a non-profit, non-religious organization that conducts programs which bring students, journalists, business people, educators, and government leaders to Iowa from around the world.
Since 2015, IRIS has held a family friendly event each year to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace. This year, the Peace Day 5K/10K and International Festival will be held at Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines. The day will include a 5K/10K Run/Walk to help promote peace and an international Festival with different games and activities for people of all ages.
The Peace Day 5K run/walk is part of the IRIS International Festival in recognition of the UN International Day of Peace. Kick off the morning at 9:00 AM with a guided yoga session led by YogaSix in West Des Moines. All runners or sponsors will receive a custom RAYGUN T-shirt! All profits from the event support the IRIS Global Grants and Scholarships program around the world!
