Description
Go the Extra Mile for HCU was created in 2019 as a fundraiser for HCU Network America to support its mission of informing, educating, connecting, advocating and funding research for homocystinuria (HCU) patients and caregivers. In just over 4 years, HCU Network America has provided tools to numerous patients, caregivers and clinicians to help support their success on their HCU journey.
Set with the participants convenience, geography and their pace in mind, in 2019, Go the Extra Mile for HCU raised more than $4,000 to contribute to help Homocystinuria patients. These races are convenient, fun and competitive way to support the efforts of HCU Network America (HCUNA). We sincerely appreciate your support for this event and HCUNA and hope you will join us for Go The Extra Mile for HCU in 2020.
Please note: Online registration closes at 11:59 p.m. tonight (EST), September 7, 2020.
How does a virtual race work?
A virtual race is a race that can be walked, ran, biked or bladed from any location you choose. You can participate on the road, on the trail, on the treadmill (or stationary bike), at the gym or on the track (or even at another race). You get to run your own race, at your own pace, and time it yourself. You do not have to complete the miles all at once, in one day, or even a week. You can use the entire month to complete the race.
How do you know how many miles I completed?
- We rely on the honor system. You don't have to use a device to prove your miles.
- If you'd prefer to use an app to track your miles, we recommend Strava. You can join the HCU Network America Club.
- Please use intentional miles - this means no step counting
- You can log miles here
- Please log all your miles by 11:59 pm EST September 30, 2020.
