Description
September 8, 2024 will mark the return of the Brookfield ZooRun - with courses entirely within the world-renowned Brookfield Zoo!
Each year more species lose their race for survival and disappear from the wild. But it is a race we can win, and YOU CAN HELP! The Brookfield Zoo Chicago Animal Care and Conservation Fund is dedicated to making a difference for these species across the globe and with each race entry, we will raise both awareness and funds for this great cause.
Run individually, with your friends or better yet - team up and race against other family members, teammates or classmates. It will be a race you will always remember and the most serious fun you'll ever have!
Each participant will receive a commemorative Zoo Run Bag, a bib containing your timing chip as well as snacks and beverages!
And that's not all...Bring your family and friends in FOR FREE to help cheer you on and enjoy the zoo.
THE 5K CHIP-TIMED RACE WILL KICK OFF AT 8:30 AM ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8TH AND THE 5K FUN WALK WILL IMMEDIATELY FOLLOW.
ALSO RETURNING THIS YEAR WILL BE OUR 1 - MILE KIDS DASH (AGES 4-13) THAT WILL KICK OFF AT 9:30 AM

Packet Pick-up
Packets can be picked up at the North Gate Parking Lot on:
Friday, September 6: 10 am to 2 pm
Saturday, September 7: 10 am to 2 pm
Sunday, September 8: 6:30 am to 7:30 am
Race Day Entrance & Parking
You may enter the zoo any time after 6:30 am on September 8.
Only the North Gate Parking Lots will be open for admission.
Once you have parked and entered the zoo, please proceed to the Discovery Center Parking Lot to line up in your timed corral.
Please note: You will not be able to access the Discovery Center Parking Lot by vehicle.
Timing, Results & Awards
Your official results will be available on-site at the results tent as well as online after the race.
Awards will be given out for the best times in the following categories:
Top Overall Time
Top 3 Male
Top 3 Female
Top 3 Boys
Top 3 Girls
Prizes will also be given away to randomly selected participants so make sure to stick around after the race to see if you won!
Prizes will be announced on stage at 10 am in the Discovery Center Parking Lot.
