Join the Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity Young Professionals Board in supporting Habitat for Humanity in the Chicagoland region!
This is a virtual 5k event! You can walk, run, mosey or move in whatever way feels best to you to complete this 5k.
Use a running platform app of your choosing (runkeeper and nike run club are both free to use) and track your time.
Once you have completed the 5k log your time on our website under the results tab and upload a fun race picture(s) to show your support.
Charity Information:
Chicagoland Habitat for Humanity (CHFH) is a support organization for the eight Habitat for Humanity affiliates in the Chicagoland area with a goal to significantly increase the number of families served in the region. There is a staggering need for housing support in the Chicago metro area and an opportunity for Habitat to do even more than it does. CHFH was created to leverage capacity building, growth, marketing and advocacy by working in collaboration with the eight affiliates across Chicagoland.
Why is Habitat Needed in Chicagoland?
- In Illinois, one in seven households spend more than half of their income on housing.
- 330,000 individuals in the Chicago are severely burdened by housing costs, live in inadequate housing, or both.
- Housing costs account for more than half the monthly gross income for 24% of working households in our region.
