Description

The Staff Engagement Committee is back for the third year with our “Move with a Purpose” event to get everyone movin' and groovin' outside, inside, or wherever works best for you–all in the name of raising money ($20 entry) for those in need.

IES Abroad Move with a Purpose is a virtual race so you can participate from any location. This year we asked our friends in Cape Town to nominate a charity for us to donate to. They chose Rainbow Academy, more below on them.

Our goal this year is to not only raise funds, but also to run, walk, bike, paddle, or ski a total of 1,740 miles (2,800 kilometers) the coastline of South Africa, stretching from Mozambique to Namibia.

Charity: Rainbow Academy
Their mission is “to be the leaders in world class performing arts education with the best platform for development and transformation which produces future pioneers of the creative industries.” The Academy offers a dual focused programme of both performing arts and business. This equips students to build sustainable and prosperous careers in the arts, and teach entrepreneurial and business skills to encourage students to eventually become business owners in the sector. IES Abroad students have both interned with and volunteered at the academy.

Please Venmo $20 (USD) Jason Schroeder @JasonWPG, #6228 are last four digits of phone number, if needed.

Staff members that do not wish to participate can still donate any amount by sending money directly to Jason via Venmo. 100% of these proceeds will go straight to our charity. Please feel free share this information with your family/friends if you like to gather extra donations! If you do not have access to Venmo, please reach out to Jason directly (jschroeder@iesabroad.org) to work out an alternative way to enter or donate!

You can use any of the “SIGN UP” buttons on our RunSignup page to participate, and can use the “RESULTS” tab--visible once you’ve signed up--to log your miles between April 1 and April 30.

If you have questions or need any other information please email us at StaffEngagementCommittee@IESabroad.org
