Description
Becky's Warriors is a 100% volunteer based grass roots charity that strives to help ease some of the financial burden that comes with a cancer fight and inspire hope and courage to families who are dealing with cancer. What started as a fundraiser to help a friend battling breast cancer has turned into a continuous journey to support families affected by cancer. Our 5k and 1 mile walk is just one event we host throughout the year to raise funds for families in need.
Becky's Warriors was developed to honor the memory of Rebecca Eaton Lopez by inspiring hope and courage to Marian Catholic families who are fighting cancer. Read more about Becky here.
The 6th annual Run Like a Warrior 5k will start and finish at the 50 yard line of the Marian Catholic High School football field. The course is an out and back through the scenic Chicago Heights Olympia Village Center neighborhood.
Runners will start in groups of 20 to 25, with each group starting every minute.
This chip timed race will feature RaceJoy race tracking for runners and spectators and will have live results immediately after you finish. The 5k is walker and stroller friendly. There is also a 1 mile walk and a Kids Dash.
Awards will go out to the top three overall males and females.
NEW- YOU CAN RUN THIS RACE VIRTUALLY- (virtual runners are ineligible for age group awards, but will receive all other race amenities).
