The Hampshire Township Park District presents the 41st Annual Coon Creek Classic 2K & 10K Race in Hampshire, IL!
10K begins at 8am and 2K begins at 8:05am
SWAG BAGS that include the hip sport bags and cooling towels are now SOLD OUT! Limited shirt sizes remain available.
The 10K route brings you through the beautiful countryside and through town during this long time running down home race.
The 2K race is great for all ages who want to join in on the fun with a shorter route that runs down State St. This is also a nice route for walkers.
Race times: 10K begins at 8am and 2K begins at 8:05am
The race will go on rain or shine. However, if weather is declared unsafe at start time, such as dense fog or storms, race time will be delayed. Please plan accordingly
Registration and Pricing
Online registration is open now until August 9th at 3:00 p.m. Registration re-opens on race day from 7:00am to 7:45am at Hampshire Middle School. In person registration only that day. No entries will be accepted after 7:45am.

Race Bags
Entry fee includes this year’s amazing custom race swag! You will receive a pocket sport belt, race t-shirt and cooling towel. After July 21st, swag will become limited and so will t-shirt sizes. Race bags will be available for pick up starting August 7th at 9am at the Hampshire Township Park District, 182 S. State St, Hampshire during office hours or pick up the day of the race. Bib numbers will be in the race bags and must be worn during the race.
Awards
AN AWARD CEREMONY WILL BEGIN IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE 2K RACE.
10K & 2K: Medals will be given to the top 3 male and 3 female finishers in each age division.
10K ONLY: Plaques given to the top male and top female overall finishers and the top male and female finishers who reside in Hampshire. NO DUPLICATE AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED.
You must be present to receive your awards or they may be picked up the week following the race at the park office, they will not be mailed.
Online results will be posted at j3timing.com at completion on the race. No printed results will be given out at the race.
Age Groups
Female and Male: 7U, 8-12, 13-18, 19-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80+
Resident and Non-Resident Rates
A resident is defined as anyone who lives within the Hampshire Township Park District boundaries. Not all Hampshire addresses are located within the Hampshire Township Park District. Click here to view the Boundary Map. Residents, by paying property taxes make a financial contribution to the operating budget of the park district. Non-Residents are welcome to register for programs at the Non-Resident Rate (nr) as noted per program or new this year: non-residents may present their tax bill to the park office and pay the resident tax rate for the year to join programs for the resident rates. Race begins and ends at the Hampshire Middle School, 560 S. State Street, Hampshire, IL. The race will go on rain or shine. However, if weather is declared unsafe at start time, such as dense fog or storms, race time will be delayed. Please plan accordingly.
Hampshire is located on Illinois Route 72, approximately 15 miles west of Elgin. From the West on I-90, follow the signs at Hampshire-Marengo Exit from I-90. Coming from East on I-90, take Illinois 47 Exit and turn left (South). Go South on 47. Turn right (West) on Illinois route 72 and go approximately four miles to State Street. Turn right onto State Street and turn left on Edgewood Ave., the school entrance will be on your left.

Additional Information
Strollers (permitted in 2K only) Bikes, skates, and dogs are not permitted in the races. Water stations will be available during the race.
