Description
Midway Village Museum presents the 6th Annual All Hallows Eve Trick or Trot. This year the race is going virtual! Participants run the 5K individually and report their personal times.
This year our goal is to have enough 5K participants that all together we will run the entire length of the Rock River – 299 miles! We need 97 runners to achieve this goal.
In the tradition of the All Hallows Eve Trick or Trot event, please feel free to participate in your favorite family-friendly Halloween costume as part of the fun! Please keep in mind that costumes may not be obstructive, offensive, objectionable or distracting. For your safety, no Halloween masks of any kind should be worn during the race. You can upload pictures of yourself in costume to the RunSignUp site. Awards will be given for the best child and adult costumes.
New this year! Refer five friends who sign up and you get $20 off your registration! Please be sure to share your number with your friends so you get credit. Refer ten friends and you get a special Trick or Trot beanie. Donate $100 to the Trick or Trot and you can get a beanie, too!
Please see instructions on how to register for the race and how to upload your time. You will be tracking your own distance and time results using your favorite mobile responsive app. Awards will be given for first, second and third, awards for male and female adult times, and then first, second, and third places for youth 12 and under. Everyone who participates will receive a finisher medal and a t-shirt. The guaranteed date for t-shirts is noon on Wednesday, October 14th. Pick-up of a swag bag with your t-shirt and medal will be available after November 1st. Participants will be notified by-email with pick-up information at the Museum’s front desk during regular operating hours. All winners will be announced on the Museum’s social media channels and in the local news media. If you have any questions, please send them to executivedirector@midwayvillage.com.
Proceeds from the Trick or Trot Virtual 5K will go fund the Museum’s education programs’ transition from in-person events to virtual events. During this COVD-19 pandemic, school classes are not able to attend in person but still desire to receive the enrichment programs offered by the Museum. Museum staff are hard at work planning a new education program that will bring the popular Civil War Hands-on History Days as a virtual program to be viewed right in the classroom. We hope to reach more than 6,000 schoolchildren. The COVID-19 pandemic has made hands-on interactive learning currently impossible to do, but with your help we can punch the COVID-19 pandemic right in the nose!
