We are proud to announce that the Care4 Breast Cancer 5K Run/Walk is back on for 2021! It will be graciously hosted again at Woodstock North High School on Sunday, October 17th with a few options for participants. We are excited to be back to a real, live in-person event at the high school and want to make sure we keep everyone’s health and safety as the top priority, so the Care4 will reflect some changes this year.
If you have been at the Care4 event, you have experienced firsthand how inspiring and moving it is to have so many breast cancer survivors (and patients at times) participating with family and friends who rally to lift them up. Keeping their health in mind, we will be implementing health & safety precautions that are appropriate from the CDC. The Care4 Breast Cancer 5K may look a little different, but it has never been more critical to the needs of patients at Family Health Partnership Clinic.
The Care4 will also have a VIRTUAL option! With the huge outpouring of virtual support last year, and how creative our participants were in hosting their own Care4 5K events, we have decided to keep the virtual component! Care4 supporters participated in over 20 states and even Puerto Rico last year! Let's see if we can have Care4 in all 50 states this year! As a VIRTUAL participant, you can choose the time and place to walk, run or be active from October 9th thru October 17th.
So together, let’s spread the Care4 message far and wide- making sure that EVERYONE has access to breast cancer screenings and early detection, preventative care and education! Early diagnosis is key to survival and without health insurance, early detection may not happen. Uninsured women were nearly 2.6 times more likely to be diagnosed with a later stage of the disease. With your support, FHPC is here to help!
The Clinic is celebrating its 25th Anniversary of providing quality health care to the uninsured men and women of McHenry County! For more info about FHPC, visit hpclinic.org.
