Details

Help with the set up, tear down of the verticades and make sure our Care4 Course is clearly marked. Saturday morning Set-Up: Load truck and trailer with verticades and bases. Distribute verticades and bases along course. Ability to lift 15 lb rubber bases and walk alongside truck.

Sunday- Race Day: Move verticades onto Raffel Rd as final participant passes. Approximately 10 minutes after start.
This creates 2 lanes allowing fast finishers a clear lane to run. (All volunteers needed)
Cleanup: 5 volunteers follow truck and trailer picking up verticades and bases. Truck will be following the sweep vehicle. This group will walk some of the course and once back on Raffel Rd. will release Raffel Rd. volunteers to other duties once verticades are loaded. Truck will proceed to city trailer and unload all verticades and bases back on to the city trailer.

Details

Saturday:
Help set up the fence panels and decorate the Start Line, hang banners, etc.

Sunday:
Fasten race corral sign poles to barricades, which will get set up before volunteers arrive.
Place “pink ribbon” banners across start area barricades to poles place in ground on other side of roadway, to create “corrals” for runners depending on average mile speed, and putting walkers and strollers toward the back.
Help guide participants to their corral; hold up other signs on poles for easier visibility.
Help take down at the end of the race!

Details

Ensure that all Care4 participants & Volunteers park safe and snug at WNHS and Merryman Fields. Parking attendants will be given bright safety vests and an illuminated wand to direct traffic.

Details

Super important role! Keep our participants safe and ON THE COURSE! You will be given a schnazzy, bright safety vest (along with cowbell and flag) to direct our runners and walkers along the actual 5K course. You must dress for the weather (rain or shine!) and bring your enthusiasm to cheer on our participants. Course Marshals stay at their assigned location the entire race and are typically paired with another person.

Water Stations

Water Station Roger Road- Sweetwater Neighborhood

Details

Water Station Volunteers are our refreshment managers and make sure that all of our race participants, whether running or walking, have water available as they cruise past the station. Tables are set up on side of the course, volunteers are in charge of filling cups from gallon jugs and placing on the tables, keeping course safe and free of cups and clean up after the race.

Saturday: Help place metal fencing along finish-line, affix banners to fencing with zip ties, assist in other set-up duties. Ability to lift 20 pounds to move fencing (with another person). Making everything Care4 PINK!

Sunday: Unload truck, affix banners to fencing and posts with zip ties, assist in other set-up duties.
Ability to lift 20 pounds.
Take down banners and remove posts and signage. Assist with clean-up in finish area.

Assist participants with picking up their shirts, checking in their bib numbers accurately and answering any race day questions. Must be able to use RaceDay Check In App on smartphone- super easy and we will show you how! Engage with our participants, thank them for supporting the Clinic! Saturday 10/12 & Saturday 10/19 Packet Pickup is at Family Health Partnership Clinic, 401 Congress Parkway in Crystal Lake. Sunday Check In is at the race at Woodstock North HS.

Details

Set up Saturday- metal fencing/barriers. Ability to move 15-20 lb fencing around the finish line area. Hang banners & streamers, assist in Course set up.

Sunday/Race Day- make sure all fencing/barriers are in place, banners intact, ensure that spectators do not enter the course/finish line area. Set up water bottles/cups for finish line runners/walkers and replenish as needed. Help clean up.
