Description
Come run a single 5K at 9am, or come run several 5K’s, until you are the last standing at the Fort!
The question is, “Do you have what it takes to race a 5K every 60 minutes for as long as it takes to break your opponent?” If you do YOU could be the LAST STANDING AT THE FORT! This race is a different type of event with a new “race” starting every 60 minutes. The course is a 3.1 mile paved greenway trail around hilly Fort Harrison, with some moderate elevation gain. It will be an easy loop to finish in under 60 minutes for most people – at least for the first few times around!
Racing starts at 9am on Saturday, June 4 with a cannon start. Men and women will complete the course at whatever pace they choose, but they MUST complete the loop in less than 60 minutes to earn the right to continue. The next start is at 10:00am. Same loop, same rules apply. The race continues in this format until there is only one athlete remaining (standing). We repeat over and over, though, after the 4th lap, the time will be decreased by 10 minutes each time until only ONE finishes the course! The lone athlete must be standing at the starting line ready for the next start to be declared the LAST AT THE FORT and the winner.
