Race Description/Route:
Come join us for the 1st Johnny Appleseed Festival 5K Run/Walk.  The race will start off just SW of the Johnny Appleseed Park campground office.  Enjoy running the River Greenway over the river to Purdue University Fort Wayne.  Admire an abundance of fall colors as you follow the trail along the river.  You may be tempted to stop and look at beautiful landscaping and sculptures as you run directly through the center of campus.  As you head back towards the finish line, you will begin to smell the aroma of vendors starting their campfires for the delicious food offered during the festival.  Proposed route is shown below, but is subject to change.

Registration Information:
Registration is currently open and will close on September 2, 2019 at 11:59pm.  The cost for participation is $30.  No refunds.  This is a timed race (by shoe chip).  The shoe chip will be collected at the race by volunteers.  If you do not show up on the day of the race, please mail chips to the address provided in the packet or mail to: Johnny Appleseed Festival/ 1502 Harry Baals Drive/Fort Wayne, IN 46802.

All registrants will receive a t-shirt.  Additionally, you will receive a gift bag with ceramic mug commemorating this special event. 

Packet Pick-Up:
Packet pickup is scheduled from Friday, September 20, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm.  It will be located in Johnny Appleseed Park by entering off Coliseum Boulevard onto Harry Baals Drive.  No need to even exit your vehicle…it is a DRIVE-THRU PACKET PICK-UP.  Volunteers will be gathering your information at the first stop and then have your packet ready at the next stop.  Please note, if you are picking up multiple packets, please have a list of the names written down.  See our Facebook Event for Drive-Thru Packet Pick-Up Map. https://www.facebook.com/events/2581903035195686/

Race Day Parking:
Parking is available at the Memorial Coliseum (parking fees apply).  NO parking available onsite due to the setup by festival vendors.

Awards:
The Awards Ceremony will begin at 8:00am.  Awards will be given to the Overall and Masters Male and Female finisher plus the top three finishers in the following age groups: 1-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+
