“November is a pivotal time for safety education, when daylight savings ends and runners are forced to get in their miles in at night,” states Terry Schalow, Executive Director of the RIA. “In addition, we want to ensure that running with listening devices doesn’t limit awareness to potential danger. Running at all times of the year should be both fun and safe, and local running retailers are the perfect ambassadors to get this message out to their communities.”
The RIA’s mission is to promote running as a lifestyle, and to provide support for running store retailers through location education programs and runner advocacy. [local business name] is working in support of those goals by bringing National Running Safety Month to Northwest Indiana
“Running and safety must always go hand in hand,” said Todd and Heather Henderlong of Extra Mile Fitness “Education and awareness gained from National Running Safety Month ensures that our fellow runners keep enjoying the sport for years to come.”
