2021 Kansas Shrine Bowl Mine Run 5K

This is a unique 5K cross country style run/walk 650 feet below the earth’s surface in an active salt mine.  You will need to wear a helmet (we recommend a bike helmet) and bring a flashlight.  Helmets will be subject to approval by staff.

Each participant will receive a T-shirt and Bib. The first 300 participants are guaranteed a medal. The minimum age to participate is 8 years old.  Anyone 8-17 years old must be accompanied by an adult. 

Heats are limited to the first 30 participates.  If you are wanting to attend additional morning events for the Shrine Bowl, we recommend selecting one of the early heats.  If you sign up for a late heat and we experience some empty heats ahead of you, you may be moved to an earlier heat and notified via email before race day. You will have the opportunity to time yourself by using clocks at the start and finish. 

You may run or walk this event. If you choose to walk please select a heat earlier in the day. All walkers and runners still on the course at 11:00am will be picked up and driven to the finish line. 

You will need to be at the race site 15 minutes prior to your selected heat time to pick up your race packet. If you are late you may forfeit your race time or have to wait until the end of the event to run/walk. 

This race is a fundraiser for Strataca/Kansas Underground Salt Museum and the Kansas Shrine Bowl. Processing fees and taxes applied to purchase. All purchases final with no refunds.
