Junebug Jog

The 37th annual Junebug Jog, hosted by William Newton Hospital and Winfield Recreation Commission offers a road race for all ages. Choose to run or walk the scenic course that starts and ends near the main entrance of Winfield High School. View Course Maps

Registration closes 10 minutes before each event.

6:45 am - Packet Pick-up & Race Day Entries - WHS South Entrance
7:50 am - 10k Run/Walk - WHS South Entrance
8:00 am - 5k Run/Walk - WHS South Entrance
8:10 am - 1-Mile Run/Walk - WHS South Entrance
9:00 am - Jr. Junebug 100-Meter Dash - Joe Vann Track (Ages 8 & Under, not timed)
9:20 am - Awards & Door Prizes - WHS South Entrance
9:45 am - Special America250 Fitness Challenge - Joe Vann Track

Pricing & Race Perks

10k, 5k, or 1-Mile Run/Walk: All participants receive a t-shirt, race bib, finisher medal, and FREE finish line photos printed and mailed to your doorstep! (*bib # must be visible) 

• 10k - $30; $35 Race Day
• 5k - $25; $30 Race Day
• 1-mile - $20; $25 Race Day

Jr. Junebug 100-Meter Dash (ages 8 and under): All junior participants receive a medal and a sweet surprise! 

• $5 no shirt; $7 Race Day
• $12 with shirt; $14 Race Day

Snacks and refreshments will be served at the finish line. Door prize drawings for all timed events will occur after the race events. To guarantee your shirt on race day, register by May 27. Processing fees apply to all online registrations. Register in person at the Winfield Recreation Commission during office hours. 

Awards

The 10k, 5k, and 1-Mile Run/Walk will be digitally timed by TimerGuys. Placer medals will be given in the following categories:

• Overall Male/Female
• Top Male/Female for 10 & under; 11-14; 15-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60+

Semi-quincentennial Celebrations - 2026 ONLY!  

Honoring America250

Join our semi-quincentennial celebration! Our theme centers on the original flag. The event is held on the 13th, and our t-shirt design will feature the circle of 13 stars. The event will emphasize local history and national pride, featuring a "Most Patriotic" costume contest and other patriotic regalia along the course. 

Honoring our Veterans

Special for 2026, race organizers will donate $1 for every participant back to the Kansas Veterans Home Benefit Fund. Located right on World War II Memorial Drive (our race course!), this home serves those who defended the nation’s independence. The Benefit Fund is used for resident activities, outings, and special supplies that improve the quality of life for local veterans.

America250 Fitness Challenge

FREE for any Junebug Jog participant! This special America250 Fitness Challenge follows our regular events, with $250 in prize money! Race around the Joe Vann Track, completing 250 reps total of various exercises as you go (such as squats, push-ups, sit-ups). The fastest male and female will each take home $100 cash, while the fastest 10-&-under participant will earn $50. Not a Junebug Jog participant? Join for just $10. 

Most Patriotic Costume Contest

Dress in your best patriotic garb. You could win a free registration to the 2027 Junebug Jog and a special prize.
