OneMore

Description

OneMore is a charitable virtual race and philanthropy event. It was created because of recent world events that have caused many philanthropic organizations to lose much needed funding. Many organizations rely on donations from events like these that have been cancelled due to COVID-19 which is why this event was developed with social distancing in mind.

Everyone is welcome to participate! It's free to register! You can create a team or sign up as an individual. Each individual has 26 days to run, walk, bike, or hike 26.2 miles. The goal is to fundraise at lease $26.20 per person, but of course we want to go above and beyond the minimum to help raise money for our philanthropy.

You can start logging your miles June 1st! Don't miss out on this fun opportunity to stay connected, healthy and challenge yourselves!

This is an easy way to stay active at home, raise money for a good cause, and to unite the community at a time we are required to be far apart.

Prizes!

Make sure you're challenging yourself to log those miles! Teams and Individuals with the most miles logged and most money raised will earn special prizes like fun merchandise, gift cards, and most importantly, money toward their charity of choice!

Ronald McDonald House Charities® (RMHC®) of the Bluegrass

The charity this event will be contributing to is RMHC!

Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Bluegrass has a vital mission to support families with sick children, and that never stops. Not even during a pandemic! No matter the obstacles, RMHC  of the Bluegrass remains dedicated to serving our local community. Recently they have launched their "Taste of Home" program to continue to purchase food for every Guest while re-investing those dollars back in to the community by ordering from local caterers and restaurants. When they received the news that no additional families were able to come & stay, RMHC launched their "House to Hospital" bag program, to provide support and comfort to Guests having to call the Hospital their Homes. To date, they have provided 125 reusable zippered bags that include individually wrapped snacks, juice boxes & water, bath wipes, oral hygiene supplies, soap, deodorant, shampoo & conditioner, and a blanket. And when they learned of the need for PPE, RMHC donated masks & gloves to the Health Department.

They did this because they know that is what community does: show up even when they're asked to stay home.

So, let’s SHOW UP for them!
