Legacy of Life 5K Walk/Run (Draft)

The Legacy of Life 5K run/walk is a major fundraiser in our community to help raise awareness for organ, tissue, and eye donation.  For those who wish to run, this IS a timed race!

Today, there are more than 1000 individuals in Kentucky on the waiting list to receive a life-saving organ. Many more have an opportunity to have an improved quality of life as a result of tissue or eye donation.

University of Louisville Hospital, now a partner of KentuckyOne Health, has a long-time commitment to their patients and families and is pleased to host this annual event to recognize and celebrate the lives of donor patients and those they have helped save through donation.

Please join us for this special 5K run/walk on September 9, 2017 at Iroquios Park in Louisville, Kentucky where donor families, recipients, healthcare providers, and donation supporters will unite in a collaborative effort to raise awareness for organ, tissue, and eye donation.

Proceeds from this event will assist in establishing a donor memorial to honor those life-saving heroes, provide community outreach, and continuing education for our caregivers.

This event represents an incredible celebration of life and of hope!
