Description
This community race is the first of the 2019 Picnic Series. The series is comprised of five races which center around the tradition of Catholic Parish Picnics in Louisville, Kentucky. This is a 5k course filled with family and fun, which features a GOLDEN TICKET where six individuals will be entered in a $100 drawing.
Every picnic series race comes with age group awards, first place overall awards, and AWESOME spinner medals for all runners!

Golden Ticket
The Picnic Series is proposed to consist of road races of distances between 3K and 5K that would be associated with a Catholic Church Picnic. For most picnics, the race will be held on the first day. Races will be located near the Parishes and neighboring communities. The first race is May 15th and the last race is August 6th.
Each event will have 6 bibs randomly selected to be "Golden Tickets". During the award ceremony, the 6 ticket holders will participate in a wheel spinning to select one Golden Ticket holder to receive a cash prize of $100. The 5 remaining ticket holders will be entered into the final race wheel spinning, at St. Joe's Picnic, to be spun for a Grand Prize.
All participants will receive a medal and t-shirt resembling parish colors. To be eligible for series awards participants must have completed (virtual runners count) a minimum of 4 of the 6 races. The cost of each race is $27 for pre-registered participants and $35 for day of race. Early bird registration may be available for each race and potentially a series entry bundle.
