Description

CALLING ALL ARMCHAIR ATHLETES!

It's once again time for the biggest little race in town, The Lazy Days of Summer 0.5K! This time we are paying homage to the 2024 Summer Olympic Games, or as we like to call it, the NO-LYMPIC Games.
Do the Olympic rings remind you of donuts? Us too. That's why we aren’t looking for the fastest, strongest, or toughest athletes, like the ones competing in Paris. This race is for those of us who take pride in our athletic underachievement. Even if the only thing you have in common with U.S. Olympic track team is that your shorts are way too tight, don’t worry -  we’ve got you covered.

LET'S SETTLE THIS

Is it really a race? Nope. Not even close. Just four short laps around the parking lot at Paducah Beer Werks and it's over. Doesn't matter if you cross the finish line first, last, or ever. You still shine like the star that you are. And you get to drink beer at the hydration station along the way. After the final lap you will finally know what it feels like to cross a finish line in a blaze of glory. And best of all, you are helping our community's most vulnerable children by doing next to nothing! It just doesn't get any better than that.

PLACE

Paducah Beer Werks
301 N. 4th St.
Paducah, KY US 42001

REGISTER NOW. SERIOUSLY. NOW.

We need you to register ASAP so you can get a t-shirt that fits. We have a really quick turn-around time this year, but don’t worry, this is the only part of the event that requires speed. Register today and you can coast through the rest of it.

THE RULES…

  1. Register now.
  2. Raise money for Child Watch.
  3. Raise money for Child Watch.
  4. Raise money for Child Watch.

TEAM WORK!

Did you see the part about raising money?  Get a team together and crowd fund for Child Watch.  The team donating the most money is the big winner!  Team Captains can create a team on this site and send invites to other team members. Set your own fundraising goal and start harassing friends and family for donations in no time!

HEY KIDS!

Get your own kid-powered team together and show your parents who wears the sweatpants in the family. If your grownup isn’t buying it just keep asking. Eventually you will wear them down.

WILL THERE BE SWAG? OBVIOUSLY.

Let's face it. Most of us only do this for the cool shirt and pint glass. You still get all the swag without all the sweat.

Adults

For your $40 registration fee adult "runners" get a newly designed extra-comfy NO-LYMPICS t-shirt, a swanky 0.5K pint glass (so you can stay hydrated long after the race is over), and a pretentious Euro-style oval decal for your car. Slap that baby on and let the world know there is an athlete behind the wheel.

Kids

For your $20 registration fee kids 17 and under get a t-shirt, a 12 oz. color-changing stadium cup, and decal.

PRIZES

We know your heart is in the right place, but don’t forget there is a little something in it for you too! We will have prizes for best costume, best finish line crossing, and most money raised by a team or individual.

NO-LYMPIC FAQs....

  • Will I be drug tested before the race? Negative. We don't expect this crowd to be into performance enhancing products.
  • What if my perfect Saturday involves the sofa, junk food and Netflix?  Don't worry. You can be home by noon with plenty of daylight left to waste.
  • What if all my spandex is dry rotted?  You’re saying dry rotted but I’m hearing retro.  I think you meant to say retro.  Retro is cool.
  • Every time I hear the word exercise I think about extra fries. Can I do this?  That's what we call motivation. Seriously, have you tried Beer Werks’ fries?  Treat yourself after crossing the finish line.
  • What if I tend to stumble over absolutely nothing?  It's fine. That's what the liability waiver is for.
  • What if I typically get winded walking from my car to the counter at Five Guys?  That’s probably just adrenaline. Be sure to stop at the hydration station for a beverage from Beer Werks and you’ll be just fine.
  • What if I only own flip flops, Uggs and Doc Martens?  Dude! You just might be the coolest person at the race.

NOBODY CARES WHAT YOU LOOK LIKE, SMELL LIKE OR HOW YOU DO IT - IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FUNDRAISING! JUST GET YOUR WALLET OUT AND REGISTER!

RACE DAY

We will be at Paducah Beer Werks at 10am for sign-in and swag pick-up. Come early and carb up while listening to live (pre-recorded) motivational tunes to wake you up. At 11:00-ish we'll have a very minimal warm-up (wouldn't want to over exert ourselves) and then it's show time! We will light the NO-LYMPIC torch and let the games begin! Four leisurely laps around the parking lot (relax - no one is counting) and bam!  You cross the finish line and unleash your inner-champion. Run, crawl, moonwalk, breakdance... anything goes!
The medal ceremony will begin shortly after the last person crosses the finish line. Will you have a spot on the podium? Actually, there is no podium but maybe we can pull up some chairs for our champs to stand on. Be sure to stick around for lunch at PBW and bask in the glory of your accomplishment.  Nothing says victory like pepperoni chips and pizza.  Now that's the sweet smell of success!
