The 5K begins and ends in historic downtown Springfield in front of the courthouse on Main Street. Runners head out through town before turning onto Walnut Street and entering scenic Idle Hour Park via the pedestrian entrance.

The course follows the outer perimeter walking path through the park before exiting onto KY-555. Participants then take on the most challenging portion of the course—a sustained climb along Lincoln Park Road to Mays Avenue.

The final stretch turns onto Locust Street and returns to Main Street for a strong finish in downtown Springfield.
